GREETINGS FROM MARCELLO VARALLO, CHAIR OF THE ORGANISING COMMITTEE
The customary pre-Christmas appointment on the Gran Risa ski slope in Alta Badia is now in its 26th year, and once again, this year we have the pleasure of playing host to two men's competitions.In addition to the traditional giant slalom, held here for the first time in 1985, we have been awarded the special slalom challenge, also on the Gran Risa slope.
First of all our thanks to all the members of the Alta Badia Skiworldcup Organising Committee, which year after year continues to give 100% commitment and passion into organising a truly unbeatable event.I should like to also give a special thanks to everyone working in the tourism industry for their invaluable contribution, from the Grandi Funivie Alta Badia ski lift company, which year on year never fails to exceed itself in preparing the trail, to the countless volunteers without whom all this would not be possible. My heartfelt thanks also to the Municipalities of Alta Badia, the Alta Badia Tourist Consortium, Bolzano Autonomous Province, and all the other sponsors and supporters for their significant financial help.
And the warmest welcome Alta Badia has to offer goes out to the athletes, the national federations, the team leaders, technicians, sporting bodies, to our financial partners, our friends in the press and television, as well as all the fans of the athletes and lovers of the ski racing circus.
